Franciscan Hospital for Children Appoints New Chief Advancement and Marketing Officer

BOSTON – Franciscan Hospital for Children is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark T. Cummings as the hospital’s Chief Advancement and Marketing Officer, where he will oversee all fundraising and marketing efforts for the hospital.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mark to the Franciscan Hospital for Children team,” said Franciscan Hospital for Children President and CEO, John Nash. “With his expertise, he’s a great fit for the organization and the right person to help us build the hospital’s reputation and network of supporters in the community.”

Mr. Cummings brings more than thirty years of experience to Franciscan Hospital for Children. Most recently, he served at the Senior Vice President of Development for Lifespan, Rhode Island’s first health system.  In that role, he was responsible for management of the central service fund-raising model which supported the system’s four affiliate hospitals: Rhode Island Hospital and its pediatric affiliate — Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Newport Hospital.

Prior to Lifespan, Mr. Cummings served as the Associate Vice President of Development at Children’s Hospital Boston. He also acted as the Director of Development for UMass Medical Cancer Center and for nine years served as Associate Director for the Jimmy Fund, the fund-raising arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Mr. Cummings received his Master of Science in Mass Communications from Boston University.  He currently resides in Middleboro, MA.
